TDP sees a chance to bounce back Hyderabad: Following the arrest of YSR Congress party President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in the alleged disproportionate assets case, the opposition TDP is making all possible efforts to exploit the present political situation and turn it in its favour during the ensuing by-election to 18 assembly and one Parliamentary constituencies.
During his one day stay in the city, TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu held a tele-conference with all district leaders and enquired about the fresh political developments taking place after the arrest of Jagan and the reaction from the people on the arrest.
Naidu has been busy visiting all poll-bound constituencies for last two months. Party leaders said that TDP was keen to strengthen its vote bank .
It will intensify by-poll campaign against Jagan and his illegal assets case. It will also thwart the YSR Congress attempts to defame TDP in the by-election by exposing the criminal background of YSR Congress leaders.
The party will also enlighten people about Jagan and his corruption to curb the expected growing people's sympathy towards YSR Congress after the arrest.
Party Politburo members and MPs T Devendar Goud and Nama Nageshwara Rao said it was not correct to politicize the arrest of Jagan as was being done by his mother and YSR Congress Honorary President YS Vijayamma for political gains in the by-election.
'Vijayamma's call to people to elect her party candidates with landslide majority had clearly shown her hunger for power. YSR family members are not bothered about the people's issue.
They only concentrate on how to come to power' , the MPs questioned Vijayamma for not stopping her son from taking up signature campaign in support of him for Chief Minister's post immediately after her husband YSR died in tragic incident.
Taking the advantage of the arrest of Jagan, TDP leaders felt that continuous tirade against YSR family will definitely yield positive results in the election.
