Nani facing TDP leaders wrath Vijayawada: Things are not going to be easy for the suspended Telugu Desam legislator, Kodali Nani, to go ahead with his future course of action. The Telugu Desam leadership appears to have taken him seriously for his remarks against the party chief, N Chandrababu Naidu.
The leaders, right from the district leadership to the activist down at the booth level, are firm on countering Nani and sealing his political career forever.
The fact that the party chief Chandrababu Naidu had asked the rank and file to hound out the suspended leader from public life is viewed seriously by the leaders who speak for Naidu and expose Nani. The leaders are coming out with hard hitting statements against Nani.
Be it the party district president, Devineni Umamaheswara Rao or the MLC, YVB Rajendra Prasad or the party State secretary, Varla Ramaiah, the leaders are going hard against the suspended legislator, while the leaders at the mandal level are hurling abuses at him bringing down his image.
While Nani himself had sought an unconditional apology from the party chief for tarnishing his image and taking action against him without seeking his explanation, the TD leaders are asking Nani to apologise making it more controversial.
The party leaders, Yarlagadda Srinivas and Koneru Balaram, from Nimmakuru, the native village of the party founder NT Rama Rao, have launched hunger strike seeking apology from Nani for his pro-Jaganmohan Reddy attitude which led the party leadership to suspend him.
In other places too, the leaders are asking the cadre to hold protests and question him wherever the legislator goes.
It is not clear whether the cadre would respond to the TD or would go with Nani, as neither the party, nor the legislator tested their strength at the ground level.
However, the responsibility is on the legislator's side to hold meetings with his supporters and prove his strength as he was firm on his political career.
