Kavitha may contest from Nizamabad Nizamabad: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao's daughter and Telangana Jagruti Samithi (TJS) president Kalwakuntla Kavitha is likely to enter political arena in the near future.
Most probably, she may contest for Nizamabad MP seat in the next general elections, rumours are making rounds in the district.
TJS chief Kavitha has been participating in several activities in the district for the past few years frequently.
These activities give strength to the analysis that she is preparing ground for her political entry here. At present, MP Madhu Yashki is representing the Nizamabad Parliamentary constituency.
Her in-laws belong to Nizamabad district and that is the reason for her frequent trips to the district, maintain some local leaders.
But others say that she has been strengthening cadres to support her in the future poll.
That is the reason why she has been actively taking up programmes under TJS especially in five Assembly constituencies which come under Nizamabad MP seat.
As part of TRS alliance with BJP during last by-poll to Nizamabad Assembly segment, she campaigned in support of BJP candidate Yendla Lakshminarayana.
She worked actively along with party cadres in the urban segment. She also gave many representations to the District Collector seeking welfare measures for Joginis at Chelli Nilayam of Sanskar voluntary organization in Varni mandal under Bodhan constituency.
Kavitha conducted Bathukamma festival at several places in Banswada Assembly constituency in support of TRS candidate Pocharam Srinivasa Reddy in the by-poll last year. This helped her to garner support to her in the segment.
She was successful in convincing her father K Chandrasekhara Rao to participate in the programme for the unveiling of Prof Jayashankar statue at Kantheswar in Nizamabad four days ago.
Generally, KCR will not participate in small meetings with audience of two or three thousands.
However, due to request from his daughter, he participated in the unveiling function in the town.
As part of two lakh saplings plantation programme, Chankrasekhara Rao presented a plant to Kavitha at the function.
When contacted, Kavitha's father-in-law Ramkishan Rao said that leaders always try to use political ground to become people's representatives and Kavitha is no exception.
TRS Nizamabad district president Aluri Ganga Reddy has said that Kavitha would enter politics in near future. If she enters politics, she would contest for MP seat.
She may contest from Khammam, Mahbubnagar or Nizamabad, he said. Some of her close associates and TRS leaders also said that her chances of entering direct politics are bright. However, the issue of her political entry has not yet been confirmed.
