Botsa's exit looks imminent Hyderabad: The PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana began sounding as if he is ready to get detached from worry, strife and stress that came in a package for him with the stewardship of the party in the state.
He found to be a man mellowed down a bit and admitted that the responsibility shouldered by him came as an assignment entrusted by the party president Sonia Gandhi and not by virtue of any election to retain it for a full term.
'Whoever is the PCC chief, it may make no difference in these circumstances. He has to act at the behest of the party high command', he quipped thus acknowledging that the party high command was ultimate and changes were inevitable.
Botsa is no mood to accept calling his term as one of failed leadership. He boasts of leading the state unit of the party through one of the most troubled phases with least cooperation from party circles.
He is also hopeful of being entrusted with higher responsibilities in the party especially in the AICC in the event of his replacement. 'I am contended with what I have achieved in the party.
I have never expected that I would be able to come this far. I have nothing to repent for as neither my father nor my grandfather was a big name in politics.
It all owed to faith reposed in me by the party high command' he admitted in close political circles.
He also stated that the party was now battle ready to face even a midterm poll. The change of guard in the state party is expected in the first week of September.
The party high command had already begun the exercise to find a right replacement for Botcha. Some of those aspiring for the party posts have already been busy lobbying in New Delhi.
Botsa who took over as the PCC chief in June 2011 had an unfulfilled task. He wanted to have his own team by reorganising the state committee. But he drew a blank in the mission.
