Politicos force: IAS officers prefer Delhi Hyderabad : Senior IAS officials seem to be more interested to go on central deputation instead of serving people in their home state. As many as 15 IAS officers shifted to New Delhi in different capacities as they were given loopline posting in some cases and in some instances the senior bureaucrats were humiliated by the ruling party leaders in the last 7 years.
Disappointed over not getting proper posting, state Chief Electoral Officer IV Subba Rao went on central deputation after 2009 general election.
Political circles said that former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy was unhappy with Subba Rao for implementing electoral laws strictly. After the elections, Rao was continued as the CEO. However, after he lost hopes on his posting, Rao shifted to New Delhi and is now serving in Central Secretariat.
The other senior officer T Vijay Kumar, who played a key role during the TDP regime has been kept in loopline for two years after Congress came to power in 2004. Vijay finally went on central deputation and settled in national capital.
Husband of APPSC Chairman Rachel Chatterjee and senior official T Chatterjee had tough time in performing his duties when he was Principal Secretary to state Roads and Buildings Department.
Cold war between the then R and B minister Galla Aruna Kumari and the official continued until the latter left for Delhi on central deputation.
During the Chief Minister K Rosaiah's regime, differences arose among the senior officials posted in the CMO.
K Raju and Dinesh Kumar quarreled with each other on the allocation of portfolios in the CMO. Finally, Raju was relived from the CMO on his request and went on central deputation. At present, he was the member of National Advisory Council.
Another official working in Panchayat Raj department , Rajiv Sharma also sought asylum in central departments for not promoting him in important posts in the same department.
Special Chief Secretary J Satyanarayana to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had suddenly shifted to central department following the complaints lodged against him by ministers that the official was not taking swift decisions in clearing the long pending files.
The fresh development was the senior IAS officer Dinesh Kumar who also preferred to serve at central offices. He was appointed as FCI Executive Director in New Delhi recently.
He was considered to be close to former Chief Minister Rosaiah. Before shifting to Delhi, Dinesh served as Principal Secretary to Energy dept in the state.
