Kiran, Botcha may not be replaced New Delhi: APCC president Botcha Satyanarayana on Saturday held a prolonged meeting with AICC General Secretary incharge of Andhra Pradesh Ghulam Nabi Azad in the Capital.
The meeting lasting over one hour is being considered politically significant. It signals that Botcha may continue as the APCC President, since he is embarking on a major campaign programme in the third week of this month in Andhra Pradesh.
According to sources, Botcha came to the Capital to invite both AICC General Secretary incharge of Andhra Pradesh Ghulam Nabi Azad and Overseas Indian Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi, who doubles as AICC Observer for Andhra Pradesh to visit the State for his programme.
Significantly, with Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy has already embarked on Indiramma Baata, having drawn up schedule in February 2013. The Congress is acting to a plan.
The Congress High Command is pressing ahead with a programme to galvanise both the government machinery, as also the party apparatus in Andhra Pradesh.
The APCC is also being restructured, besides reorganizing the DCCs in the State. Such an exercise may quell for now the speculation over the change of leader.
The Congress High Command, which conducted considerable exercise in the regard, wants both the Government and the party to reach out to the people and address their popular demands, in order to move closer to the people.
The Congress High Command focus is more on reaching out to the people and addressing their basic needs and demands, in a bid to make the party more popular.
