Major overhaul likley in State Congress Hyderabad: The talk of 'key changes in the state Congress' is doing the rounds once again in the ruling party.
At a time when the dust settled over the possibility of key changes in the state government and the PCC, a senior Congress leader predicted major changes in the ruling party in the state soon.
According to him, who handled the state Congress affairs until recently, the high command has already taken a decision on the possible changes in the state but is keeping its decision under the wraps.
Though the leader cannot predict the imminent changes, he is of the opinion that some 'surprising decisions' might be taken by the high command soon.
Incidentally, the leader recently held a series of meetings with the AICC top brass on the state party affairs. 'I can't definitely say that there would either be a change of guard in the government or in the party.
What I observed from my meetings with the party leadership is that the AICC top brass has arrived at a decision over state party affairs.'
Against the backdrop of renewed discussions on the possibility of key changes, Sanatnagar MLA Marri Sashidhar Reddy's name is cropping up among the aspirants to the chief minister's post.
Sashidhar's meeting with newly-inducted Union ministers from the state at his residence in Delhi on Tuesday strengthened the speculation.
Meanwhile, the senior leader, while having an informal chat with some reporters, said that if at all the Congress high command opted for a change of guard it might pick up a BC leader from the Telangana region for the chief minister's post.
He also said that change of chief minister would not be linked with the Telangana issue.
Interestingly, amid renewed discussions over possible changes in the state Congress, finance minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy undertook a Delhi tour secretly on Tuesday.
The buzz in the Congress circles is that Ramanarayana Reddy is lobbying for PCC chief's post for himself in the event of change.
