Man turns 'Amma, ready to deliver Shakti! Srikakulam: A young man claiming to be the 'Solapuri Amma' is attracting a huge number of devotees in the district. He claims that he has celestial powers and can grant boons to devotees.
He started his mission under a tree in his native village of Kusumapuram in Kaviti mandal six months back. He later shifted his base to a hill top in the neighbouring Kattivaram village on a 50-acre plot, where he erected a temporary tin sheet shed. He is giving darshan to devotees everyday from 9 am to 12 noon.
He wears a sari and jewellery and claims to be carrying a 'Solapuri Amma' Shakti in the form of a gold statue in his womb and he will give birth to it on November 30.
He claims that he would die after the birth of the Shakti and it would be installed on the hill top. He is telling his devotees that he can be saved if a special puja is performed by spending Rs 9 lakhs.
A young man of 30, his real name is Thimmala Gopi. After his father's death, he went to Puri in Odisha in search of employment two years ago and did some odd jobs.
He returned six months ago and sat under a tree claiming that he transformed into 'Solapuri Amma'. Later he shifted his base to a hill top in the neighbouring village.
On the hill top, he mobilized about 40 permanent devotees and they are managing his show. They are regulating the flow of devotees by issuing tokens.
Hundreds of women devotees are thronging the place and praying to him. The permanent devotees are not allowing the media to meet the 'Solapuri Amma'. They are also not allowing photographers and videographers to take pictures.
