Samara Bheri to prevent exodus to YSRCP Nalgonda: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) plans to organise `Telangana Samara Bheri' on a massive scale at Suryapet on November 25 with the aim of strengthening its vote bank in South Telangana.
There are two other reasons for holding the public meeting: The TRS wants to put a check to making beeline of leaders from Congress and TDP leaders to YSRCP.
It wants to put the MPs Komatireddy Rajagopala Reddy and Gutha Sukhender Reddy in a dilemma.
The TRS was launched at a meeting in Karimnagar and the party's first anniversary was held in Nalgonda.
In 2006, TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao conducted `Bus Yatra' from Marriguda in the district seeking solution to fluorosis problem.
At a meeting (Telangana Atma Gauravam) held at NG College in Nalgonda in 2008, he asked all the MLAs and MLCs (of TRS) to submit their resignations which led to the by-elections.
Though there are 12 Assembly segments in the district, TRS was able to win from Alair segment in the by-elections.
Initially, KCR planned to contest from Nalgonda Parliament seat; but later changed his mind and contested from Mahbubnagar Parliament constituency.
Jitta Balakrishna Reddy who worked actively in TRS in the district joined YSRCP. Former MLA Sankineni Venkateswara Rao, who saw no apt place for him in TRS, joined YSRCP. Vijayamma conducted two successful meetings in Bhuvanagiri and Suryapet.
As such, TRS wants to display its strength in the district. Former Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy resigned his post in support of Telangana agitation and is waiting to join YSRCP.
His brother (also Bhuvanagiri MP) Komatireddy Rajagopala Reddy and MP Gutha Sukhender Reddy are also reportedly waiting to jump oto YSRCP bandwagon. TRS wants to restrain these two leaders from joining the YSRCP so it can woo them later.
It may be recalled KCR had made statements that several Congress MLAs and MPs were in touch with him and would join the party.
The Samara Bheri would clear the political clouds in South Telangana, party circles say. TRS plans to mobilise people from Janagaon, Palakurthi, Dornakal in Warangal district and also from Paleru for Suryapet meeting.
