Destination YSRCP: MLAs bidding time Vijayawada: The YSR Congress is claiming that over 70 legislators from the ruling Congress and the Opposition Telugu Desam Party are waiting in the wings to join the party. The exodus is seen as positive sign for the party to unseat the ruling Congress.
The party leaders are in high spirits as one or the other leader is joining the party from the three regions of Telangana, Andhra and Rayalaseema, acting as a morale booster to the party.
Though the party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy is in Chanchalguda jail, the party is in the midst of the eople with his sister, Sharmila undertaking 'Maro Praja Prasthanam' successfully in the districts.
The impressive turn out during her padayatra is also building a positive image for the party.
A senior leader from the Telugu Desam, Umareddy Venkateswarlu, who represents the dominant Kapu community in coastal districts, is joining the YSR Congress in the next couple of days.
While his exit is likely to cost dear for the TD in these parts, it is set to strengthen the YSR Congress Party.
Another senior leader from the Congress, Gade Venkata Reddy, is learnt to have made up his mind to shift loyalties to the YSR Congress. His son is already in the party giving indications of his father following suit.
The five-time MP, Kavuri Sambasiva Rao, who has sent in his resignation as MP, is giving indications of quitting the Congress. Though he is yet to make up his mind, the YSR Congress Party leaders claim that the senior leader would join their party soon.
Besides him, they claim that there are a handful of senior leaders from both the Congress and the TD from coastal districts who are ready to join the party soon.
