Dasari Narayana Rao mulling to quit politics HYDERABAD: Former Union minister of state for coal and film director Dasari Narayana Rao is learnt to have decided to hang up his shoes as far as his public life is concerned.
According to sources, there was tremendous pressure on him to join the YSR Congress since he is a powerful Kapu leader and the party needed one such to influence Kapus in coastal belt where they are numerically strong.
But the former central minister is reluctant to join the YSRC for two reasons. First, the party is increasingly being associated with Reddys and, second, he does not want to rub the Congress leadership on the wrong side at a time when his name did rounds in the coalgate scam. The YSRC has reportedly offered him the membership of Rajya Sabha.
