Telangana: Back to square one Hyderabad, December 28 (INN): The All Party meeting has brought the Telangana issue back to square one and is a near repetition of the earlier version, with little changes.
The Scene one of Act three has more participants and more visibility than the earlier two ones but the outcome has been more disgusting. Two representatives telling contrasting views from Congress while TDP maintaining its ambiguity in a higher pitch brings the problem to square one.
While TRS has given a bandh call tomorrow, and Seemandhra too may follow suit for the one month deadline set by Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, who refused to divulge the details of who said what in the meeting. 'Hopefully this will be the last All Party Meeting,' said the Home Minister but what does that mean is not clear.
Whether Home Minister represents the Government or the Congress Party is not known with all clarity but stretching the exercise for one month had been an old game.
The time was asked by the Home Minister for compiling the views expressed by the 8 political parties in the meeting and to arrive at a decision.
CPM is the only party which batted for a integrated state while TRS and BJP were unanimous in voicing for a separate state while other parties had no absolute clarity on the issue.
To keep the pot battling, there would be pressure from both regions and the one month will see lot of action on the streets and war of words will break out at various forums and debates.
All said and done, the New year may have not have any surprises, feel some parties but since the Home Minister looked composed and confident after the meeting, there is no option but to play the waiting game.
