Its 'sonrise' time for Telugu Desam Hyderabad: TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu's plans to rope in youth in big numbers into active politics will soon materialise. According to party insiders, it could be done even before the ongoing walkathon of Naidu comes to an end.
Party leaders say that Naidu in all probability will name N Lokesh as the president of Telugu Yuvatha and this will mark the beginning of infusing young blood into the party.
The senior leaders, who have crossed 60 years, have already expressed their willingness either to take a backseat or to contest for Lok Sabha polls, so that they can pave way for their sons.
The recent direct interest being shown by Lokesh in the party activities, particularly during his visit to Naravaripalli in Chittoor district where he had gone with his father-in-law N Balakrishna to celebrate Sankranti, the meetings he held with local leaders.
The appointment of Y Rammohan Naidu, son of senior TDP leader Yerran Naidu, who died in road accident last year, as the party incharge of Srikakulam Parliament constituency and another senior leader D Veerbhadra Rao's son D Ratnakar as party president of Visakhapatnam ( rural), is being seen as a clear indication that Naidu is keen to replace party senior leaders with their sons who are eager to plunge into politics and ready to fight 2014 election. Lokesh, it is said, may even contest from Chandragiri Assembly Constituency.
Sources said about 50 leaders are learnt to have informed Naidu that in view of aging factor and poor health condition, they want to field their children in the fray.
Most of the leaders have been associated with TDP from the time the party was launched by NT Rama Rao in 1982 and fought all elections since then.
In Rayalaseema region- senior party leader G Muddukrishnama Naidu wants to launch his son Jagadish as TDP candidate from Nagari constituency, B Gopalakrishna Reddy is promoting his son Sudhir Reddy from Srikalahasti, Paritala Sunitha wants to bring her son Sriram into active politics from Raptadu, KE Krishna Murthy wants his son Hari Babu should be given ticket from Dhone, NMD Farooq is pitching for Feroz from Nandyal constituency and Hanumantharaya Chaudhary wants that his son Uday Chaudhary to be the candidate from Kalyan Durgam constitutency.
In Telangana region ' K Nageshwara Rao's son Chinni is already playing active role in politics, Uma Madhava Reddy's son Sandeep is aiming for Bhongir seat, V Chander Rao wants his son Satish to contest from Kodad, K Dayakar Reddy is trying for Siddhardh Reddy from Devara Kadra, A Revanth Reddy is said to be working to bring his brother into active politics.
S Devaiah wants his son Gautam to contest from Choppadandi and TDP MP Ramesh Rathod's son Ritish Rathod was seen visiting Khanapur constituency regularly to woo the voters.
In Coastal Andhra region, senior leader Y Ramakrishnudu wants his brother Krishnudu to succeed him from Tuni constitutency. Similar demands are coming forth from Tadepalligudem in West Godavari district where Y Narayana Swami's son Naveen is in the race and B Bulli Ramaiah's son Rajiv Babu from Ungtur will take plunge into politics soon.
Sources said Naidu will hold a meeting with the veteran leaders soon after he winds up his padayatra.
