MBA student crippled for life Hyderabad: Destiny dealt a severe blow on 22-year-old Rajitha when she was on the cusp of becoming financially independent. The final year MBA student of Islamia College was with her friend Swapna near the Venkatadri theatre on Thursday when one of the bombs exploded.
While the explosion claimed the life of Swapna on the spot, Rajitha was bought to the Yashoda Hospital in a critical condition. Rajitha's right leg was crushed and she also had a big laceration on her back, doctors said. A below knee emergency amputation was performed on her by ortho surgeons.
She continues to be in a critical condition, according to doctors. The daughter of beedi workers Nagamani and Elijaih, Rajitha, was in the city to pursue her education and dreamed of landing a big job, according to her uncle.
'She is very hard working and is very supportive of her family. She was looking forward to finishing her education this May and getting placed in a good job to support her family,' added another relative. She has two younger brothers.
According to close family members, the parents had a tough time tracing the girl after the blast. 'Only after they saw her name in the scroll of a news channel did they realise where she was and came rushing,' said an uncle.
