YSRCP faces Samaikya test in Hyderabad Hyderabad: The YSR Congress Party's proposed public meeting, `Samaikya Sankharavam', against the bifurcation of State, in Hyderabad on October 19, would be a show of party's strength in Telangana besides sending a strong signal that the party is the champion of united Andhra cause, according to party leadership.
To make the meeting a huge success, the party leadership has decided to mobilise maximum crowd from Telangana districts. This would also help them in claiming that even a good number of people in T region were opposed to bifurcation.
A senior leader on condition of anonymity told that there were many people who had come from Seemandhra and settled in Telangana, particularly in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts. Efforts were on to mobilise them to attend the meeting.
Jagan wanted to make the presence of people who strongly supported his father and former Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and the beneficiaries of welfare and development schemes launched by YSR during his term as CM.
The party leadership claimed that even after the party announced that it was in favour of Samaikyandhra, the YSR party still enjoys considerable support in South Telangana districts particularly Khammam, Nalgonda, Ranga Reddy and Mahbubnagar.
After Jagan's release from jail, the party leadership celebrated the occasion by conducting rallies and meetings in these districts and the cadres in Telangana were eager to take part in the first public meeting to be organised by him in the city, after floating the party in 2011.
Jagan, who arrived in the city from Idupulapaya held a meeting with party senior leaders Konathala Ramakrishna, Somayajulu, YV Subba Reddy and others at the party head office and discussed the arrangements being made for the meeting and the possibility of Telangana people's support to the meeting.
He also enquired with city party leaders, including YSR party city President Aadam Vijaya Kumar, for their readiness for the meeting. Jagan will also hold meetings with all district party units soon.
