Will Naidu contest in both regions? Hyderabad: Although it is not confirmed yet, but speculation is rife within the TDP that the party supremo, N Chandrababu Naidu, is keen on contesting from both Telangana and Seemandhra regions in the event of State bifurcation.
He would be contesting from Serlingampally Assembly constituency in Ranga Reddy district in Telangana, besides his home comstituency of Kuppam in Chittoor district.
Following a vertical split in the party on regional lines over the bifurcation of the state, Naidu's close aides conceived this idea to appease the Telangana TDP leaders who are left in a quandary after the party took a U turn on its support to separate Telangana state.
The Telangana TDP leaders were receiving messages from the party high command that Naidu was keen to contest from one of the constituencies in Greater Hyderabad and the leaders were welcome to give their opinions.
A majority of leaders chose Serlingamaplly for Naidu as the electorate there had a large presence of voters from both Seemandhra and Telangana regions.
No one is sure whether such a situation will arise as uncertainty in discussing the draft Telangana Bill in the Assembly loomed large.
