Pawan testing political waters HYDERABAD: Film actor Pawan Kalyan created a flutter on Tuesday by calling up Congress legislator Thota Trimurthulu, while his supporters contacted another lawmaker Vanga Geeta and discussed with them the political vaccum in the state, particularly in the Seemandhra region.
Of late, there has been an intense speculation over the possibility of Pawan Kalyan making a political arangetram sooner than later. With the din reaching a crescendo, the actor's office issued a press release on Sunday that the actor would speak out his mind soon.
When contacted, Ramachandrapuram Congress MLA (Earlier with TDP and Praja Rajyam) Thota Trimurthulu said Pawan Kalyan has spoken to him directly, but declined to share the contents of the conversation.
'We spoke a lot. I cannot tell you everything,' he said. Incidentally, Trimurthulu has made all preparations to join the TDP and now it remains to be seen if he would.
Meanwhile another Congress MLA (former PRP) Vanga Geeta reportedly sought to meet Pawan Kalyan personally to appraise him about the state of affairs prevailing in the state and the political vaccum created particularly in Seemdnhra region after hordes of Congress men left the party post bifurcation.
While this is so, in Eluru, a new development in Telugu Desam Party has caught everyone by surprise. Film actor Balakrishna's fans made a demand that their hero should be made president or working president of the Telugu Desam Party; otherwise he would not take any responsibility for ensuring the victory of the party in the general elections ahead.
Balakrishna's fans took out a bike rally and later staged a dharna at fire station centre in Eluru. Nearly 100 fans, led by Balakrishna Abhimanula Sangham state convener BVG Tilak, organised the demonstration.
Tilak felt sorry that Balakrishna who infused strength into the party with the support of his fans since its inception was not given the prominence he is entitled to. 'We want him to be made president or working president before the municipal elections are held,' he said.
Meanwhile, former chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was closeted with his confidants and discussed floating a political party. According to sources, he wants to tour Seemandhra region and explain to the people how valiantly he had fought against bifurcation.
