Pawan still left in the wilderness of politics? Pawan Kalyan appears to be a loose can non. The Power Star, who is arguably the most popular film hero in Tollywood today, appears to be taking his followers for granted. He is apparently expecting his fans to follow whichever path he takes.
Pawan spoke at the inaugural meeting of the new party, Jana Sena, about Marxist revolutionary Che Guevara, tribal leader Komuram Bheem and balladeer Gaddar and then air-dashed to Ahmadabad to shake hands with Narendra Modi who is an anti-thesis of the radical politics that the actor adores.
He is known to be a voracious reader, but the reading seems to be desultory. The books might not have given him a proper understanding of the societal dynamics.
He does not seem to have a plan for the development of the poor and downtrodden in whose name he poured out his heart the other day. He is a confused soul. He has emotions no doubt. They may even be genuine. But they do not seem to have been channeled.
What could Pawan have discussed with the BJP Prime Ministerial candidate in Ahmadabad when they met on Friday? About aggressive economic reforms? Congress Mukt Bharat? Package for Seemandhra? It would have been possible to guess if political and social philosophy of the actorturned-political activist is known. There is no clue as to what is going on in his mind.
Pawan launches a party speaking for almost two hours non-stop, and then goes to Delhi and flies to Modi's territory. The destructive ability of the cannon is only in the realm of imagination. The direction is unpredictable.
There were reports in the media that Jana Sena is going to be part of a grand alliance comprising BJP, TDP, and Lok Satta Party. There is a semblance of commonality on the economic policy among the first three parties. But what would Jana Sena be doing there?
What is its economic policy? Is it going to be the one which Che believed in or Gaddar has been propagating all his life. Has Pawan Kalyan any idea of various economic development models that are in vogue across the world?
Does he believe in the World Bank model of development that Modi, Naidu and JP subscribe to? Had he ever applied his mind to this aspect? These and many other questions bother the admirers of the Power Star.
There are all kinds of speculations on the force that has been propelling the hero. The party that is going to suffer on account of Jana Sena is evidently the YSRCP.
Pawan has declared support to Modi after meeting the putative Prime Minister. He told the media that he discussed with Modi the growth potential of both the States.
The meeting with Modi has not lent any clarity to his political ideas. But the declaration of support would help the BJP-TDP alliance, if it comes about. There is no time for Pawan to put up candidates in the elections. He might campaign for some candidates. His role would be limited to that extent.
