Hyderabad to glitter at night
HYDERABAD: Hyderabad will soon present a glittering look to tourists during nights. They would get an opportunity to go round the city and enjoy the beauty of its tourist stops, besides enjoying the sumptuous and authentic Hyderabadi cuisine.
As part of promoting Brand Hyderabad, the Telangana Tourism and Culture department will soon introduce a new tourism package 'Hyderabad by night' to attract tourists, especially IT professionals who want to freak out during nights at weekends.
B P Acharya, Principal Secretary, Planning, Tourism and Culture Department, Telangana government, who inaugurated the Travel and Tourism Fair in Hyderabad, told media, 'Hyderabad is a known tourist destination and people come here, buy pearls and enjoy authentic Hyderabadi biryani.
We are introducing 'Hyderabad by night' during weekends targeting tourists, especially IT professionals who want to enjoy their weekends in Hyderabad.
According to Acharya, 'Hyderabad by night' package will include sound and nigh show in the evening followed by dinner in Taramati Baradari. 'We are also offering a Bonalu package on Sundays. We are also going to strengthen tourism in Hyderabad as part of promoting Brand Hyderabad image,' Acharya said. The Telangana government is contemplating strengthening the tourism sector in the near future with an investment of Rs 60 crore.
As part of this process, it has identified some places and is identifying more to attract tourists into the State. The idea is to develop several clusters of tourism other than Hyderabad so that the heritage spread across the entire State is fully recognised.
'We want to add tourism packages to promote heritage of Telangana. We will develop the Kakatiya Heritage Circuit and lesser known areas. The government will promote Jannaram near Kawal tiger sanctuary and Kadem lake resort in Adilabad, Alisagar lake resort in Nizamabad, and Saraswati temple of Basara. The idea is to get tourists interested in Telangana.
We want to develop places other than Hyderabad too. We are working out a strategy,' Acharya said. He said, 'We will be developing the Kakatiya Circuit in Warangal-Karimnagar region with an investment of Rs 50 crore, and also be focusing on Nalgonda with Rs 10 crore investment, Wavers' cluster in Pochampally.
We are also looking to revamp existing tourism facilities in the State.' On the timelines to develop the Kakatiya Heritage Circuit, Acharya said, 'The works are in initial stages. We would expect some concrete developments in the next 5-6 months. Some facilities are already in place and we have to further promote them.'
