The temple town has been sprucedup for the grand conduct of the nine-day annual Brahmotsavams of Lord Venkateswara scheduled to take-off with the ceremonial 'Dwajarohanam' (hoisting of the temple flag) on September 26 evening.

The TTD management is making all efforts to facilitate a comfortable darshan of the procession of the deity on various 'vahanams' ' that form the core part of the mega religious carnival. The Mada Streets encircling the sacred shrine, through which the daily processions of the deity will be taken out have been primedup, befitting the occasion.

Steps have been taken for the easy movement of the devotees within the open top porches along the Mada Streets besides ensuring regular supply of drinking water. Devotees desirous of offering 'harati' to the deity during the procession have to invariably turnup in the traditional wear.

On the darshan front, more emphasis will be on providing a hassle-free darshan to the multitude of devotees converging at the place during the festival period without much waiting time in the queue lines.

For this, the management has already made the Rs 300 special entry darshan tickets available over the internet as well as at all its 'e-darshan' counters. However, the interests of the devotees reaching the place without any advance reservation of the darshan tickets will also be taken care.

This apart, focus will be on maintenance of hygienic surroundings atop the entire town and providing quality food to devotees. Besides roping in the services of the 'Kalyanakatta sevakulu' at its tonsuring centre, the management this time has decided to utilise the services of Srivari seva volunteers in a big way.

A buffer stock of 10 lakh laddus will be maintained during the festival period to meet the demand. Religious and cultural programmes will be organised under the aegis of the TTD's Dharma Prachara Parishad in addition to devotional concerts.

The customary presentation of a pair of 'silk vastrams' on behalf of the State government will be made by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Friday evening soon after the Dwajarohanam ceremony.

DHWAJAROHANAM:

Holy flag with an image of Lord of Aves Sri Garuda will be hoisted atop the temple pillar(dhwajastambham) inside sanctum, marking the successful beginning of the 10-day mega religious fete of Lord Venkateswara. It also stands as an invitation to all the deities present in 14 lokas to Lord's Brahmotsavams.

PEDDA SESHA VAHANAM:

The mighty serpent plays a vital role in Hindu Mythology as is on this snake that Lord Vishnu reclines while sleeping in the milky sea. Usually peddasesha vahanam is being regarded as Adisesha the 1000-hooded snake. (Here in this vahanam this snake has seven hoods). The Adisesha dons different accessories for Lord Venkateswara as residing place(seven hills), bed, umbrella(giving shelter with his hoods), as ornament and any more.

CHINNASESHA VAHANAM:

MUTHYAPUPANDIRI VAHANAM:
Usually among the Hindu deities Lord Vishnu is often described as "Alankara Priya" (who loves ostentatious paegentry) and this is the reason why that in all the Srivaishnava temple, Lord Vishnu is always dressed up in gorgeous silks, shiningg jeweelery and elaborate flower garlands etc. Among these dazzling ornaments also Lord loves to be dressed up in pearls as they are the symbol of peace, love, purity and sanctity.

KALPAVRIKSHA VAHANAM:

HANUMAN VAHANAM:

Lord Hanuman is often regarded as the loyal bhakta of Lord Sri Rama in Tretayuga. Since Lord Venkateswara is believed to be the incarnation of Lord Vishnu in Kaliyuga, the Lord takes on Hanuman vahana to show the devotees the concept of "Sharanagati"-total surrender through this mighty vahanam.

SWARNA RATHOTSAVAM:

Lord Venkateswara is not only the universal supreme lord but also popularly known as the Lord of Riches. To show his grandeur, the Lord rides on Swarna Ratham-the golden chariot on the sixth day.

ASWA VAHANAM:

In ancient Hindu scriptures Aswa, the horse is always considered as the key element during wars. It is the favourite vehicle of Commander-in-Chief during wars by playing a courageous role in fighting enemies and emerging victorious. Lord being the supreme commander Kalki, takes ride on Aswa vahana.

GAJA VAHANAM:
