No takers for Urdu Teachers' posts: Dy CM Hyderabad, March 9 (INN): Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari on Monday informed the Legislative Council that several posts of Urdu Teachers were lying vacant due to want of eligible candidates.
Replying to a query raised by MIM MLCs Syed Aminul Hasan Jafri and Syed Altaf Hyder Razvi during Question Hour, Kadiam said that of 326 vacancies to be filled through DSC-2008, the government could not find suitable candidates for 285 posts under the reserved category for SC, ST, BC and women. He said efforts were on to de-reserve the posts and fill them with regular candidates. Similarly in previous DSCs, the government was able to fill only three out of 145 posts of Teachers due to non-availability of eligible candidates. Likewise, of 731 posts identified under DSC-2012, the government could find only 405 eligible candidates.
The Deputy CM said that the government was committed towards promotion of Urdu language and would take all steps to fill the vacancies of Urdu Teachers. He also assured that recruitment of teachers and other staff would be done in aided schools.
