Malaysia shows interest to work with AP
Hyderabad, March 17 (INN): In a meeting with Malaysian delegates, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu welcomed the Malaysian government's interest in conducting a feasibility study for Itchapuram-Chennai Beach Road.
A delegate from Malaysia's Industrial Development Board said that their government is interested in master plan and conceptual planning of townships in the Capital Region.
The delegation evinced interest in investing in infrastructure, roads and buildings, aquaculture, IT, mining, automotive industry, pharma, tourism and agro-processing sectors in Andhra Pradesh.
The government said that it is willing to partner with the government of AP in providing technologies for solar projects. Another investor evinced interest in mono rail in Vijayawada, Guntur and Vizag.
The Chief Minister explained the advantage of AP having a long coastline and stated that it can be lead by port-based development. This, he said, puts AP at an advantage of becoming the logistics hub for South East Asia.
The Malaysian delegates invited the CM to visit Malaysia and study the development models there.
Meanwhile, the Telugu Community of Malaysia invited the Chief Minister to be part of the Ugadi Celebrations in Perra. The Chief Minister has assured full cooperation from the Government of AP and said the government is planning to have country-specific desks for ease of doing business. He added that both the Indian Government and The Malaysian government should work on increasing the number of flights from Visakhapatnam to Kuala Lumpur.
Recalling his experiences of visiting Malaysia 16-17 years ago, the Chief Minister appreciated the work that went into making Putrajaya one of the best cities in the world.
The delegation included Chief Minister of the State of Perra, executives from Industrial Development Board, industrialists, members of Malaysia's Telugu Association.
