AP Govt to launch Knowledge Mission Hyderabad, April 7 (INN): Taking forward the vision of developing Andhra Pradesh state into a Education and Knowledge hub, the state government will launch Knowledge Mission on Wednesday in Visakhapatnam.
This is part of the government's efforts to usher education reforms and create entrepreneurs who can create employment opportunities.
The 'Knowledge Mission,' which is first of its kind in the country, aims at transforming Andhra Pradesh into one of the three performing states by 2022-23. It also intends to put forth Andhra Pradesh as the best state in the country for Higher Education by 2029.
The objectives of this mission are to increase gross enrollment ratio; address educational inequity between rural & urban areas; improve quality of education; invest in faculty development; ensure youth employability; align vocational education & training with national & international standards; promote arts and humanities; promote holistic development of students; develop support infrastructure for research and development; build institutional partnerships; encourage public private partnerships (PPP) and industry collaborations and initiate a reform process to remove regulatory roadblocks.
The state government will adopt a two-track approach to achieve the objectives of 'Knowledge Mission.'
The first being, emphasising on improving existing institutions by identifying structural gaps and initiate changes to existing curriculum.
The second approach is to work towards creating new institutions in the state by identifying areas where they are viable and necessary. It will also include establishing off-shore institutions which will partner with international institutions.
