Railway Week Award to Chief Publicity Inspector
Hyderabad, April 11 (INN): J Selvin, Chief Publicity Inspector, working in Pubic Relations Office, South Central Railway, Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad has bagged the prestigious GM's Railway Week Award in recognition of his meritorious service.
SCR General Manager PK Srivastava presented the award to him in the Railway Week main function of SCR held on Friday, at Rail Kalarang at Bhoiguda in Secunderabad.
Having completed 36 years of service in SCR, including 28 years in Public Relations, Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad, J. Selvin has varied experiences on several apheres of public relations activities and rendered commendable service over the years. He showed commendable skills in preparing Press Releases on development activities, achievements of SCR, Seminars, Workshops, Railway functions for inauguration of new trains, new railway lines, running of special trains to clear extra rush of passengers, crisis management during dislocation of train services due to derailments/accidents/natural calamities etc and sending the same to print and electronic Media for publishing /telecasting.
His note worthy contributions in other areas of public relation spheres include writing for brochures/press briefs, articles for publishing in print and social Media, printing of brochures/booklets, organizing Media Conferences, Guided Media Tours, organizing railway exhibitions, presentation of railway Tableau at ceremonial functions, publicity for exhibition trains, commercial publicity etc. He is one of the regular contributors and is in the panel of writers for 'Indian Railways' a monthly Magazine being published by Ministry of Railways from New Delhi. Many of his Articles were published in the 'Indian Railway' Magazine. He had bagged All India level Railway Minister's Award for English Essay Competition in 2010.
