GHMC to launch ACGRS
Hyderabad, April 20 (INN): The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation is planning to be more effective in addressing the grievances on immediate basis.
To achieve this, the GHMC is in the process of implementing an advanced citizen grievance redressal system in its limits. The proposed system will deploy 12 monitoring vehicles to cover approximately 2,000 linear kilometers of Hyderabad city twice every day. This is one of the innovative system and one of its kind in the country.
GHMC Commissioner and Special officer Somesh Kumar, Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahender Reddy and senior officials of concerned departments held a review meeting with regard to implementation of advanced citizens redressal system in the GHMC limits. Somesh Kumar said that the vehicles would be mounted with four High Definition Cameras on top of the vehicle to provide a 360 degree panoramic coverage. The existing system for sorting out the grievances is lagging behind and due to lack of coordination with implementation of this system the grievances can be sorted out on priority at the earliest.
Somesh Kumar said that the project, once implemented, would allow the GHMC Commissioner and other senior officials to closely monitor all services delivery such as garbage collection, manhole coverage, streetlights falls, stray dogs, public toilets, dead animals, roads and pot holes, public encroachments, illegal constructions amongst a host of services, analytics are being implemented to automate identification of service delivery issues along with photo and video evidence of all such instances.
The GHMC Commissioner said that the GHMC would set up a mini-command centre with a task force to monitor the live / recorded footage and also initiate coordination and action to manage any lapses identified and this type of system implemented the system will enable GHMC to provide citizens with better service delivery.
Somesh Kumar further stated that the GHMC is also planning to launch a smart city mobile application to enable citizens to report all such instances using their smart phones as well using crowd sourcing. To this effect a review meeting was held at the chambers of the Commissioner, GHMC today.
GHMC Additional Commissioners N Ravi Kiran and Jayaraj Kennedy, senior officials from the GHMC and Police Department and the members of the consultancy agency have participated in the review meeting held on Monday.
