Aiming for 40% share in Pharma exports: Laxma Reddy Hyderabad, May 11 (INN): Telangana's Health Minister Dr. C. Laxma Reddy said that the State Government was committed for the overall development of the industry, particularly Pharmaceutical industry.
'It will be the endeavour of Telangana Govt to see that Telangana's share of Pharma market grows up from current level of 20% to 40% in near future,' he said while addressing a press conference as a curtain raiser to the 4-day Indo-Global Pharma Expo and Summit 2015 to be held in Hyderabad from 23d to 26th July. The minister assured all the help for the proposed Pharma Summit.
The theme of the Pharma Summit is 'Innovations and Advances'. The Marigold and Greenpark Hotels will be the venues for the meet
A curtain raiser press conference was called for in city on Monday to brief about the same. Besides the Health Minister, Pharmaceuticals Export Promotion Council Director General Dr. P.V.Appaji and the Indus Foundation President S.B. Anumolu participated in the Curtain raiser meet.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Appaji said India is the pharmacy of the world. Pharmaceutical exports are no way comparable to software exports performance. Indian Pharmaceutical products are exported to nearly 220 countries and colonies of the world. India's pharmaceutical market will touch 35 billion US dollars market by 2020. It will be more than double from the current year's $18 billion. We have already reached out targets. We are registering excellent growth, he said. The domestic market is put at Rs 80,000crore. We have already touched one lakh crore. It is registering 15 per cent growth Appaji said
One third of Indian Pharmaceutical market is in both the Telugu states. We both states contribute nearly 33% of the national market, he said. The 11000 acres of land allocation for Pharma city by the Government of Telangana is something extraordinary, which we haven't seen anywhere in the world such huge allocation of land, he said.
Speaking on the occasion, Anumolu said that the major innovations and advances in the coming summit would be focused areas like Pharmaceutical Technology; Medicinal Chemistry; Pharmacognosy, Indigenous drugs, Herbal formulations and Phyto-chemistry; Pharmacology and Toxicology, Clinical Research & Pharmaco-vigilance; Bio-pharmaceutics, Pharmacokinetics and Drug Metabolism; Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality Assurance; Biotechnology and Bio-therapeutics; Hospital, Community and Clinical Pharmacy; Pharmaceutical Education and Professional Pharmacy; Drug Regulatory Affairs; Pharmaceutical Management; Pharmaco-economics and Pharmaco-epidemiology, informed Anumolu.
Speaking further, Anumolu added that The Indo-Global Pharma Expo & Summit 2015 will provide an opportunity to the participating companies to display advanced pharmaceutical technologies, products and services to the business visitors from across the globe. The event will be attended by more than 4000 business delegates and eminent speakers. The Delegates will include CEOs and top Executives of the Pharmaceutical Industry and top professionals of various allied industries.
