TS Govt plans to establish 1,000 Gyms
Hyderabad, May 14 (INN): Home Minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy and Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao on Thursday inspected the facilities at Jalagam Vengal Rao Park, Lotus Pond and Rock Park.
The ministers directed the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation officials to hasten the works on cleaning of ponds situated in the parks. Speaking to media persons, they informed that a Gym and Library would be established in Vengal Rao Park. They said that the State Government proposes to establish 1,000 Gyms and 1,000 Libraries at different public places across Greater Hyderabad.
Harish Rao informed that the Mission Kakatiya was confined to the rural lakes, but all lakes located in the city would also be taken up for cleaning and modernisation. He said 30 lakes in the city would be developed as Mini Tank Bund on the lines of Hussainsagar. He also directed the officials to remove encroachments from all the lakes and take stern action against the encroachers.
