'Swachh Hyderabad' will be a continuous programme: KCR Hyderabad, May 14 (INN): Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has announced that Swachh Telangana - Swachh Hyderabad would be a continuous programme.
Addressing a meeting with the city MPs and legislators at the State Secretariat on Thursday, the Chief Minister said that although the Swachh Hyderabad campaign would be held from 16th to 20th May, he would conduct another meeting with the elected representatives of the city on May 26 to discuss the campaign's outcome and people's feedback. He said representations and complaints to be received from the general public during the campaign would be discussed in the next meeting.
The Chief Minister informed that instead of 400, the city has been divided into 425 parts for the Swachh Hyderabad campaign.
Union Labour Minister and Secunderabad MP Bandaru Dattatreya, Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi, Deputy Chief Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Ministers Nayani Narasimha Reddy, T Padma Rao and Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma, GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar and MPs, MLAs, MLCs and members of Secunderabad Cantonment Board participated in the meeting.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister shared details of Swachh Hyderabad campaign and stated that the State Government intends to involve the general public at a large scale. He said at least 6,000 "Change Agents" would be deployed across the city on voluntary basis to ensure that the city remains clean and green.
KCR informed that Governor ESL Narasimhan, his cabinet colleagues, all senior official and even the Army officials have offered their complete support to the programme. He said besides sanitation and lifting garbage, all issues like power, drinking water, roads and drainage would be addressed during the Swachh Hyderabad campaign. He promised to release Rs 50 lakh for each area to resolve the problems.
The next meeting on city issues will be held on May 26 at MCR HRD Institute from 10 am.
