KCR extends overseas scholarship to poor student Hyderabad, May 14 (INN): Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao on Thursday granted special exemption to a poor student which enabled him to get scholarship for overseas studies.
The student, Rakesh Kumar, son of a vegetable vendor Renuka of Madannapet of Old City, had secured 59.3% marks in B Pharmacy. However, 60% marks are essential to get scholarship under Ambedkar Overseas Students Fund. In view of his parent's poor economic conditions, the Chief Minister granted special exemption and directed the officials to grant scholarship to Rakesh.
