APTRANSCO bags National Award
Hyderabad, June 3 (INN): In a significant development, APTRANSCO, a prominent State Transmission Utility (STU) in the country, has once again bagged the prestigious National award for meritorious performance conferred by the Ministry of Power, Government of India, in the category of 'Transmission System Availability'. APTRANSCO has achieved a record level of 99.966% of Transmission System availability for the Year 2013-14 and has been conferred 'Silver Shield' in this regard.
Recognizing the best efforts of APTRANSCO's performance in increasing the transmission availability, the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ministry of Power (MoP), New Delhi has conferred the award of 'Comprehensive Award -Silver Shield' to APTRANSCO in the category of 'Transmission System Availability' for the year 2013-14. Ministry of Power (MOP) has hailed APTRANSCO which has been consistently achieving better performance and winning prestigious awards.
APTRANSCO Chairman and Managing Director K Vijayanand received the award from Union Power Minister Piyush Goyal during a function held on Wednesday at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi. While thanking the Ministry of Power for selecting APTRANSCO for the above award, Vijayanand opined that continuous increase in Transmission System Availability, is made possible due to the best efforts of the officers and staff of APTRANSCO and congratulated the entire employee community for achieving this prestigious award and requested them to continue the same efforts in future also.
"With the unstinted support of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, the power utilities are putting all out efforts to achieve self sufficiency in the sector which paves the way for rapid economic development in the state. For achieving this goal the government has fixed targets to the utilities to enhance power generation and strengthen the Transmission & Distribution network substantially and take up pro-consumer activities in a big way," the CMD said.
PK Pujari, Secretary/Power/GoI, Devendra Chowdhary, Spl. Secy/Power/GoI, Jyothi Arora, Jt. Secy/Power/GoI, Major Singh, CEA/Chairman and S.Subramaniam, Director/Projects/ APTRANSCO have also participated in the award ceremony.
APTRANSCO aims at further increasing the Transmission System availability and Reducing transmission losses on par with International standards by adopting up to date technology and best practices available in Operation & Maintenance of Transmission Lines and Substations, in the world. Top priority will be given for infrastructure development in transmission sector, which ultimately benefits the end consumers and Generating sources.
Earlier, APTRANSCO received various awards such as Power Line Experts Choice Award, India Power Award-2008, IEEMA Power Award ' 2009, India Power Award-2010, National Vigilance Excellence Award-2011, ICWAI ' 2010 National Award, Excellent Public-Service Sector Award-2011 and ENERTIA Award-2011 as Best Performing State Utility in the country in reducing T&D losses, Comprehensive Award Silver Shield 2012-13 etc., (
