149 PCs, HCs completes Band Course at TSPA Hyderabad, June 5 (INN): The 32ND Band Course Passing out Parade was held at the Police Academy on Friday, in which 149 in service PCs/HCs have taken part after having four months induction training in Band Course.
Of them, 88 are from Telangana state and 61 are from Andhra Pradesh. The participants have been selected from District Armed Reserve and Special Police Bns. to undergo Band display induction training.
Telangana Director General of Police Anurag Sharma attended the Deekshanth Parade as Chief Guest, received guard of honour and witnessed the Band display.
TSPA Director Dr. Ish Kumar, in his inaugural speech, explained about various training activities being conducted in the Academy. In addition to regular activities, this Academy is also conducting various courses like ATA Course sponsored by BPR&D and Computer Courses sponsored by NCRB. He stated that all the trainees of Band course are in service Police Constables were trained to play tunes like General Salute, Our Chief, Review Order, National Anthem, Auld Lang Syne, Sare Jahase Acha, Bharath-ke-Jawan, Swagatham, Jai Bharath, Kadam-Kadam,QueensColour-A Nepali Bharath, Drums solo, C-Major, F-Major, G-Major Abide with me etc., in various instruments. He further added that these trainees have been taught to make different formations and march past during this course.
As part of welcome address, the Director requested the Chief Guest for his intervention in resolving certain issues like, restoration of 30% incentive allowance to all staff members of Academy, implementation of 10th PRC-2014, release of Telangana increment to the staff working and Alienation of 60 acres of Reserve Forest land in Sy.No.1 of Chilukuru (v) in favour of the Academy for development of Phase-II project.
Anurag Sharma congratulated all the participants for successfully completing the course and also the faculty who have taken great pains in moulding each of the trainees in to Band Constables. He expressed his delightness after watching the spectacular display of various formations and tunes. He further added that the Band is an integral and essential part of Police. Hither to, there was shortage of man power in Band segment, but now with this batch the shortage could be overcome to some extent, he added. He further requested all Unit officers to utilize the services of these trainees to train more persons in their respective units.
The DGP presented medals and mementoes to those who have shown excellent performance in 4 months training. The award winners are C.Naga Seshdudu, PC 447, II Bn. For first place in all round performance, P.Trimurthulu, PC 2014, III Bn., for second place and Yehoshuva, PC 242, XVII Bn for third place. Instrument wise winners are 1) C.Nagaseshududu, PC 447 in Clarinet, 2) P.Khajavali, PC 832, in Trumpet and Baroitone, 3) Sri N,.SAnthosh Kumar, PC, XIII Bn in Euphonium and Bass, 4) Sri Yehoshuva, PC 242, XVII Bn. In Sexaphone and 5)_ B.Venkanna, PC 75 in Side drum and Bass drum.
The main instructors for this Band course K.V.Bhatt, Retd Army Band Master who is visiting faculty to NPA and T.Subrahmanyam, RSI Band Master, who won silver medal in the ALL India Band Competition.
