AP to celebrate Yoga Day on June 21 Hyderabad, June 11 (INN): Andhra Pradesh Chief Secretary I.Y.R. Krishna Rao held a meeting on Thursday with the officers to discuss the arrangements to observe World Yoga Day in Andhra Pradesh on June 21.
The Chief Secretary emphasised that the Government of India performing the Yoga as on voluntary mode without binding anyone. Celebrating Yoga Day is the first time in the world, simple postures and Surya Namaskars are there to perform on the Day.
He has issued instructions that necessary arrangements may be made in all the districts to ensure to successfully conducting of the event. A State level coordination Committee may be formed with the Prl. Secretary Endowments as Chairman and the Commissioner AYUSH as Member-Secretary to organize the event.
All the concerned Departments have been asked to organise Yoga-related events to ensure wider participation particularly for students and teachers to participate in Yoga session on June 21. There should be involvement of Art of Living, Isha Foundation and Brahma Kumari's on the Yoga Day, the Chief Secretary added.
Senior Officers J.S.V. Prasad, Sisodia, N.K. Prasad, Nalini Mohan, Rekha Rani and others attended the meeting.
