GHMC to simplify building permissions procedure
Hyderabad, June 11 (INN): The newly constituted Committee of Swachh Hyderabad has given certain proposals to make the procedures for building permissions more transparent and free from corruption.
The Committee has also advised the GHMC to issue permissions within the stipulated time. Observing that the present procedure involves lot of documentation, the committee asked the GHMC to minimize the documentation. Following these suggestions, GHMC Commissioner and Special Officer Somesh Kumar directed the officials to give building permissions on priority basis.
The GHMC is also planning to receive the applications for building permission through online for the convenience of the applicants and also to take up the files in e-Office. It is proposed to impose heavy penalties and action for delay in granting permission. The necessary documents with regard to building permissions such as Revenue maps, HMWSSB, Electricity, HMDA, Fire Services and all other necessary required information must be kept on online for easy circulation of the file so that the building permissions can be issued at the earliest.
Somesh Kumar said that the proposal has been sent to the State Government for approval.
The committee also noticed that of 412 posts, as many as 283 posts in the Town Planning Department are lying vacant. Therefore, the GHMC has been asked to take steps to fill the vacancies.
