KCR unveils Telangana's new Industrial policy


 
Hyderabad, June 12 (INN): Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao unveiled the Telangana Government's new industrial policy, in the presence of over 2,000 industrialists, at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre (HICC) here on Friday.

He also launched the web portal of TS-iPASS (Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-certification System) and the new solar power policy. Besides industrialists, nearly 2,500 participants included Diplomats and other special invitees. Heads of about 250 leadings companies were also invited for the launch.

Addressing the impressive gathering, KCR promised quick, time-bound and transparent permissions to project proposals. He said Telangana would be free from corruption and Hyderabad would have the best Law and Order situation to ensure investor-friendly atmosphere.

KCR assured that all project proposals would be cleared in just 12 days. He said investment proposals could also be sent through online. The serious investors would be invited to the State and they would be received by the Protocol Department officials at the Shamshabad International Airport. They would be directly brought for talks to the Chief Minister's Office. He informed that senior official Shanti Kumar would head a 'Chasing Cell' which would ensure that all facilities like land, power, water and other infrastructure is provided to the investors for setting up of their units in Telangana. He assured that in 12 days after submission of application, he himself will hand over all the clearances to the investors.

KCR said that the new State of Telangana was striving hard to emerge as the best investment destination in the country. Special emphasis is being given to maintenance of Law and Order. He informed that nearly 1.16 lakh cameras were being installed in Hyderabad and Cyberabad surveillance for fool-proof surveillance. As many as 100 SHE Teams have been constituted to ensure women's security. He said instead of new Women Police Stations, the strength of women's police officials is being increased in existing police stations. He assured that women's representation in police forces would be increased up to 33%.

The Chief Minister urged the investors to set up industrial parks across Telangana State. He said that the State Government has earmarked 1.60 lakh acres of land for establishment of 150 industrial centres and 28 zones. He also elaborated on the plans to set up Pharma City, along with one Pharma University on Hyderabad's outskirts.

Addressing the meeting, ITC Group Chairman YC Deveshwar announced that his company would invest Rs 8,000 crore in Telangana State. He said that the ITC plant at Bhadrachalam of Khammam presently produces 5,000 Tons of paper. He said that the ITC proposed to increase its production to one million tonnes paper. The move will not only create hundreds of jobs, but it will also benefit the farmers. He also announced setting up of a food processing unit in Medak district at a cost of Rs 800 crore.

The programme was also addressed by Industries Minister Jupally Krishna Rao who assured uninterrupted power supply to the industries. Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Vice-Chairman Narasimha Reddy proposed vote of thanks.
