Talasani participates in 'Swachh Hyderabad' Hyderabad, June 17 (INN): Commercial Taxes Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav and HMR MD NVS Reddy walked around various lanes and by-lanes of West Marredpally and interacted with the residents as a part of Swachh Telangana-Swachh Hyderabad phase II on Wednesday.
Noticing overflowing sewer line near Geetha nursing home, the Minister instructed water board officials to immediately repair the manhole and directed GHMC officials to remove the garbage dump over a manhole which is blocking the sewer line.
Responding to the request of the residents, the Minister has also advised GHMC Zonal Commissioner Hari Chandana to keep surveillance over people who are dumping building debris and other garbage in open places and to initiate action against nursing homes/hospitals which are not following scientific disposal of biomedical waste and which are dumping it in the garbage bins.
Interacting with the residents and media personnel, the Minister appealed to the residents to keep their premises and the colony free from garbage and debris. He stated that special teams have been sent by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to New Delhi and Nagpur to study various methods adopted to keep the cities clean, and that two bin system for segregation of garbage will be introduced soon.
Reiterating the vision of the Chief Minister to transform Hyderabad into a global city, the Minister said that every individual has to take part in Swachh Telangana-Swachh Hyderabad programme and make the vision come true.
Responding to the complaint of residents that some private builder constructed a multi-storeyed building over a nala flowing through Marredpally in the cantonment area which is choking the main sewer line, the HMR MD informed them that he would speak to CEO, Cantonment to demolish the illegal structure.
Senior officials of GHMC, HMWS&SB, HMR, many senior citizens, women and other residents of Marredpally participated in the Swachh Telangana-Swachh Hyderabad phase II programme.
