'Green Cyberabad Police' makes plans for Harita Haram Hyderabad, June 24 (INN): From July 3rd to 10th, the entire State machinery will be busy planting 40 crore saplings in the 10 districts of Telangana State in an effort to bring back the minimum forest cover of the State which has seen widespread deforestation and the resultant reduction of rains and drying up of lakes.
After a detailed review by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, Cyberabad Commissioner of Police C.V. Anand, conducted a detailed review of the activities being taken up by the police officers to plant over a lakh of saplings in all police stations, Police offices, CP office and also the coordination measures with the Revenue/Forest Departments to enable maximum plantation in educational institutions, Government offices etc.
The entire Cyberabad Police machinery is gearing up to assist in the vigorous education campaign during which CDs and Cassettes will be played at all places, villages, Harita Haram stickers will be displayed on Police vehicles and other Government vehicles and also Autos/Cabs. The idea is to bring is a 'Harita Udyamam or Green Movement' with a Special focus on community involvement and especially involvement of children to plant 1 Sapling each.
DFO Ranga Reddy Hari Kumar addressed the Police officers and explained the action plan and how to go about the programme, what type of trees to plant and how to obtain the Saplings. The Additional Commissioner of GHMC incharge of Social Forestry, Shafiullah, also explained the entire programme and the Police Stations in Cyberabad falling in GHMC limits will have to obtain Saplings from GHMC nurseries. Both officers sought the support of Cyberabad Police to make it a success.
