Digital 5K Run marks 25 weeks of 'Rahagiri'
Hyderabad, July 5 (INN): Rahagiri Day, a street event that provides citizens with the opportunity to reclaim their streets, connect with their community, celebrate their city , on Sunday successfully completed 25 weeks. The Raahgiri Day was started on January 18 this year.
Digital 5K Run was organised on Sunday by ITE & C Dept, STPI, Cykul, Hyderabad Runners, HYSEA and NASSCOM. Nearly 1500 people participated in the Run. Senior IAS officer Jayesh Ranjan flagged of the Run.
Being the milestone day, Raahgiri witnessed huge turn out on Sunday. Nearly 3500 people visited the Raahgiri Day.
Speaking on the occasion, Jayesh Ranajan said, when we introduced Raahgiri, we had every confidence that it will be a huge hit. Now it will spread to the new areas in the city he said. He also unveiled the teaser campaign of CAR FREE THURSDAY initiative. Jayesh Ranjan also gave away appreciation certificates to all those behind making Raahgiri a huge success.
The good old Sack Race, the traditional rural game was back with bang. Lot of IT folks had a gala time with Sack Race. Also called as gunny sack race, it is a competitive game. It is a traditional children game. But, people of all ages played the sack race. I had a gala time doing this informed Subba Raju of SLP. It reminded me of my good old days said Rajitha an IT employees.
Rolling Cycle Tyres was another interesting street game drew lot of participation.
What Club has announced Grow Green Challenge. Jayesh Ranjan started the challenge by planting a sapling. He nominated five more to plant trees.
The August Fest Team which organizes India's largest Start Up Conference on 29th and 30th August created awareness about the same. It is by far the biggest conference on Startups said Adi Vemuru, a core team member. It will have incredible talks by global business leaders. 300 plus investors are expected to participate. 50 plus investor companies, 50 plus start up pitches and 40 plus short films will be screened informe Adi.
Subba Raju Pericherla and team of StartUp Leadership Program(SLP) created awareness about their SLP Program. Few employees of the Bank of America performed a rock music.
Murali Nannapaneni of Hyderabad Runners said idea behind organizing Digital 5K Run was to create awareness about digital empowerment.
Cyberabad DCP Karthikeya also graced the occasion. He presented samplings to the winners of the quiz. The Cyberabad Police had created awareness about Haritha Haram, the massive tree plantation initiative, Government of Telangana has taken up. They conducted quiz and gave away saplings as prizes and also certificates. Lot of people participated with great interest in the quiz
In coming weeks Raahgiri plans to organise an exclusive Raahgiri Day for Police and also for Twins.
Even after 25 weeks Raahgiri is rocking. People have been eagerly looking forward to Sunday for Raahgiri.
