 News: Special Stories | 43 MLAs raise issues during Zero Hour Hyderabad, Oct 7 (INN): As many as 43 MLAs belonging to MIM and TRS raised different issues during the Zero Hour in Telangana State Legislative Assembly on Wednesday.
MIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi slammed the State Government for permitted wine shops near schools and places of worship. Citing instances, he said wine shops in Bandlaguda nad Aliabad were almost adjacent to schools and mosques.
TDP MLA Manchireddy Kishan Reddy (now with TRS) wanted the government to reclaim 200 acres of land given to different companies and use it for establishing PG College and Agriculture Research Centre.
MIM MLA Jaffer Hussain Meraj complained that drinking water was not being supplied properly in the city and some areas were not water even once in five days. He asked the government to ensure two hours water supply every alternate day. He also demanded upgradation of Shaikpet and Ahmed Nagar reservoirs in his Nampally constituency.
MLA K. Prabhakar Reddy complained that several areas in Chotuppal were affected with flouride. He wanted immediate steps to stop pollution of drinking water.
Yakutpura MLA Mumtaz Ahmed Khan demanded that the government ensure clearance of garbage, especially from South and Central Zones of the GHMC. He said not even 10% of street lights in the city were functional. Karwan MLA Kausar Mohiuddin sought State Government's intervention to resolve the problems related to military areas in Nampally and Karwan localities. He said that the military authorities were not permitting constructions and have also closed roads and nalas in their vicinity. He said even Hyderabad District Collector has expressed his helplessness to deal with this issue.
TRS MLA Kamalakar demanded that the government make representation with the Centre to increase the number of Smart Cities in Telangana. He said while five cities from neighbouring Andhra Pradesh were picked, only cities from Telangana were selected under Smart Cities project by the Centre. MLA Kova Lakshmi complained of lack of healthcare facilities in tribal areas of Adilabad district.
