TS Govt to unveil a new Medical Policy soon
Hyderabad, Oct 11 (INN): Health Minister Dr. K. Lakshma Reddy on Sunday informed that the Telangana Government would soon unveil a new Medical Policy for the State.
Speaking to media persons after touring Armoor and Balakonda Assembly constituencies of Nizamabad district here, the minister said that the State Government has already constituted a Cabinet Sub-Committee to finalise the new medical policy. He said that the policy was aimed at providing corporate level medical facilities to poor villages in rural areas.
The minister said the committee, chaired by him, comprises of Panchayat Raj Minister K. Tarakarama Rao and R&B Minister Tummala Nageshwara Rao. He said the committee would hold two-three meetings and submit a report to the State Government. He said it is proposed to establish 30-bedded hospital in every mandal headquarters and 100-bedded hospital in Assembly constituency. He said that the District headquarters would have hospitals like NIMS.
Lakshma Reddy said that the all District and Area hospitals would have ICU units and steps are being taken to fill the vacancies in all government hospitals.
Earlier, the minister laid the foundation stone for 100-bedded hospital being constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.75 crore. He said that the hospital building would be constructed within one year and required staff and equipment would be provided later. He also inaugurated 30-bedded hospital buildings at Kisan Nagar and Pochampad.
MLAs A Jeevan Reddy and P. Prashant Reddy, Nizamabad Collector U. Geetha Rani, DMHO Dr. P. Venkat and other senior officials were also present.
