KCR unveils Dr. Kalam's statue at DRDL Hyderabad, Oct 15 (INN): Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao unveiled the statue of former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam at DRDL Missile Complex on the occasion of his birth anniversary here on Thursday. The Missile Complex too has been named after Dr. Kalam from today onwards.
Secretary Defence R&D & Director General DRDO Dr. S. Christopher and DRDL Director Dr. K. Jayaraman were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, KCR praised the role played by Dr. Kalam in turning Hyderabad as the Defence Capital of India. He said Dr. Kalam has also developed indigenous technology in health sector which made treatment affordable and easily accessible for heart and dental patients. Hyderabad gained prominence in aircraft manufacturing and rocket spares due to Dr. Kalam, he said.
