Comedian Kallu Chidambaram Dead Popular Comedian Kallu Chidambaram is no more. Kallu Chidambaram died in a private hospital on Monday. He had been suffering from a respiratory ailment.He was 67 and is survived by wife, two sons and two daughters. The veteran comedian was undergoing treatment for some old age related ailments at Care Hospital and he passed away this morning.
Kallu started his career as a stage artist and made his acting debut with 1988 Telugu film 'Kallu'. He won the Nandi award for his performance in the film. Later he became synonymous with Kallu and fondly called Kallu Chidambaram.
He has starred in more than 300 Telugu movies and of his popular films include 'Chanti', 'Govinda Govinda', 'Ammoru' and 'Pelli Pandiri'. Most of the telugu comedy film directors like E. V. V. Satyanarayana, S.V.Krishna Reddy, Relangi Narasimha Rao etc, had associated with him for exclusive comic roles in their films.
Ammoru directed by Kodi Ramakrishna bought Kallu Chidambaram good fame for his critically acclaimed performance in the'movie.In'2008 he had founded a federation of artistes, Sakala Kalakalrula Samakhya, for the welfare of artistes and for sometime organized monthly programmes.
