Superstar & Surya Donates For Rain Victims
Actors from the Kollywood 'film fraternity have come forward to help those affected by rains in Chennai. Tamil popular actors Rajinikanth, Suriya, Karthi, Vishal and Dhanush have donated Rs 40 lakh to the Nadigar Sangam, which is collecting for relief fund for the rain affected people in Tamil Nadu.
Superstar Rajinikanth has extended his support to the rain- affected victims of Tamil Nadu by donating Rs.10 lakh to the Chief minister relief fund.An official statement said the donation was paid through Sri Raghavendra Public Charitable Trust, owned by Rajinikanth.
Meanwhile actor Dhanush has donated Rs 5 lakh. Hero 'Suriya and his brother Karthi have chipped in Rs 25 lakh while actor Vishal Krishna Reddy also has donated Rs 10 lakh.
Several parts of Tamil Nadu and neighbouring Puducherry continued to receive heavy rains. All educational institutions have been ordered to remain shut due to the severe rain condition. Situation in Chennai was very worse. The total rainfall in Chennai was 119.73 cm breaking the 1918 record of 108.8 cm, which had stood as the highest record
