Late actor and hero's statue unveiled In Vijayawada
Shoban Babu was one of the most talented and handsome heroes, Tollywood proudly produced and the actor is known for his disciplinary actions off screen too. Today a bronze statue of this iconic actor was unveiled in Vijaywada's Gandhinagar centre .Irrigation Minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao and TDP MP Murali Mohan unveiled the statue of the actor.
Muralimohan recalled his association with Shoban Babu and added that his valuable advice helped him in his life to a large extent.Speaking at the occasion Devineni promised to look into the plea to name Andhra Patrika Centre after Sobhan Babu. He advised the actor's fans' association to submit a memorandum so that he could forward it to the State government for approval.
The eight-foot tall bronze statue weighing 800 kilos was sculpted by Rajkumar Vudayar from East Godavari.Shoban Babu never donned insignificant roles and retired from the films at the hight of his career at 58 to spend the rest of his life with his family members. The Actor passed away 10 years ago but is remembered to date by his fans
