Cop Stopped Me Saying I Looked Like A Foreign Prostitute; Says Singer A female singer from Delhi Vandana Vadhera has accused a police constable of insulting and misbehaving with her, prompting officials to launch a probe into the alleged incident. Vandana Vadehra is a singer from Delhi who is currently living in a rented flat at the Royal Palms neighbourhood in Aarey.
She encountered the constable in the wee hours yesterday, as she was returning home from the airport around 1 am. On her way to home from airport she have come across a constable, identified as Hemant Sawant. The cop after stoppig her cab started inquiring with the car driver about where is he going and from where is he coming. Subsequently, the constable started asking questions to Vadhera and made some lewd comments against her appearance.
''At first, he only asked the cab driver questions about who he was, where he was going, etc. He saw my light hair and complexion and assumed that I am a foreigner. I kept telling him I am a resident of Aarey, and that he could come along to verify this, but he said he knew very well what kind of people live there,' said the 35-year-old.
'He then told me that there were many bachelors who live in Royal Palms who seek services from prostitutes. He said I even looked like one,' added vandana in her complaint
Recently, the police set up a check-post in the densely forested area of Aarey Colony, where several sexual assault cases had taken place in the past.
