Another Star Heroine Files For Divorce
South indian film actress Prema on Wednesday moved the family court seeking separation from her husband Jeevan Appachchu. She filed a petition in the court seeking divorce under the Hindu Marriage Act Section 13(D). In her petition the actress stated that her husband had consented to their separation.
Prema married Appachchu, a software industrialist, in 2006.Sources said the couple were living separately for the past few years. The court will now hear the petitioners and refer the matter to the counselling centre.An order would be passed thereafter.
Prema's first Telugu film Dharma Chakram starring Venkatesh gave her recognition in Tollywood and she was later seen in several films like Omkaram, Maa Avida Collector, Dheerga Sumnagali Bhava, Devi etc.
Post her marriage in 2006, Prema acted in very few films as a supporting character and completely stopped acting after her last release Shishira in 2009. She has, thus far, acted in more than 70 movies in Kannada and more than 28 movies in Telugu.
