Director Arrested For Changing Movie Name & Selling Rights
Panjagutta police on Wednesday arrested a small time Tollywood director on the charge of forgery case. As per reports Mohanty Padmarao alias PK allegedly forged the signature of a movie producer and sold the movie rights to another person after changing the movie's name.
According to reports, Mohanty, a resident of Krishna Nagar who was associated with the film industry for the last 20 years sold the movie rights to a person named Pradeep Chodary.A year ago, Padmarao and producer Jana Ramarao, started a movie titled Ammayilu Take Care. The movie was almost completed and post production works were in progress. Meanwhile, Padmarao sold the movie's rights to Pradeep by changing movie name.
Padmarao forged Ramarao's signature and changed the movie's name to Vadu Vidu Kalpana and sold rights on a profit sharing basis. Based on Ramarao's complaint, cases of cheating and forgery have been registered. Police arrested Padmarao and sent him to judicial custody.
