Telugu Playback Singer Enters Guinness World Records As a true artist, your real sense of happiness comes when your work is appreciated and you get the due recognition in terms of awards and felicitations.
Legendary playback singer P. Susheela has won one such recognition today. Susheela become the Guinness World Records title holder for singing highest number of solo, duet and chorus backed songs in over six Indian languages.She has sung nearly 17,700 solo, duet and chorus-backed songs and has now entered the Guinness Book of World Records for her commendable feat.
Susheela is from Andhra Pradesh and has sung songs not just in Telugu but Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi, Bengali, Oriya, Sanskrit, Tulu and Badaga. She shifted to non-film songs and has cut a lot of spiritual albums as well. Susheela has five National Awards to her credit, besides the coveted Padma Bhushan honour, which was presented to her in 2008.
Susheela is considered one of the doyens of film music in south India. Telugu film industry is extremely indebted to a phenomenal and gifted singer P.Suseela. She was the voice of every yesteryear actress right from the black and white era to the modern age.
