Ammakaniki Andhra Pradesh Hyderabad: Revolutionary films do have a separate identity. Of late R Naryana Murthy has been known to produce such films. Whether it is left wing ideology or Telnangana sruggle, Naryana Murthy has a film to make.
When there were large scale protests at Kakarapalli near Sompeta against the power plant and police firing the issue rocked the State.
Narayana Murthy like a true revolutionary took up the people's issue and wanted to make a film out of the struggle.
He started the film as People's War and changed it to Ammakaniki Andhra Pradesh, which is likely to attract wrath from some quarters.
Murthy is playing the role of the protagonist in the film, which would also include the glorious past of the peasants' struggle famously known as 'Srikakulam poratam' of the late 60s.
Revolutionary film maker R. Narayana Murthy has been working for a film that revolves around the agitation against the Thermal Power Plant project near Sompeta in Srikakulam district.
Narayana Murthy toured the affected areas and interacted with the villagers who were opposing the project before beginning production of the film. Narayana Murthy was deeply inspired by this movement.
'Somepeta is witnessing one of the greatest people's struggle in the history of independent India', he said.
