Just a couple of weeks ago, sultry siren Shriya Saran went on record to state that she would love to enact the role of a sex-worker in films.
The history of Tamil and Telugu films is replete with instances of actresses who play sex-workers in films going on to establish themselves firmly as actresses of substances in their respective languages. As such, the proposed film is expected to be a shot in the arm for Shriya.
The curvaceous actress has confirmed it. 'Yes, of course' I'd be playing a sex-worker in the film. I liked the script immensely and gave my consent at once to star in the film,' says the actress, who was last spotted in Telugu screen in the film 'Nuvva Nena' along with Sharwanand and Naresh.
Shriya, however, revealed neither the name of the film nor the director. It is said that a top director recently had a long chat with Shriya during when he explained the role in detail to her along with the complete script.
'Shriya was excited and happy that the role, for which she had been waiting for a long time, fell in her lap on its own. She can't wait for the film to go to the floors,' sources close to the actress say.
Shriya now joins contemporary actress Charmee, who plays a similar character in director Chandu's next film.
