Classic Vipranarayana to be remade Hyderabad: All time classic Viprnaryana will be remade in Telugu and Hindi. The 1937-emotional drama, which has Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Bhanumathi in the lead roles, will be remade by Tandra Ramesh, who is presently busy with a Gopichand-Nayanatara film.
'Efforts are on to rope in big stars to play the lead roles, played by Nageswara Rao and Bhanumathi in the original.' Ramesh said in a press release.
Vidya Balan, who shot to top five Club with her successive hits and Deepika Padukone are under consideration for the female lead.
The story is based on the life of Tamil Vaishnava Saint Thondaradippodi Alwar, also called as Vipranarayanar or Bhaktanghri Renu Swami and Vipra Narayana was first made in Telugu in 1937.
In 1938, it was remade in Tamil. In 1954, it was once again remade as a bilingual in Telugu and Tamil with Nageswara Rao playing the lead role. It remains to be seen who plays the lead roles, should it be remade now.
